The Agency has been involved in
the health sector for more than 30
years, contributing to improved
health of individuals, families, and
communities through the capacity
strengthening of healthcare
professionals, construction, and
rehabilitation of WASH facilities.
Currently, ADRA is a member of
the Ghana Civil Society
Organizations (CSOs) Platform on
Sustainable Development Goals
(SDGs), Key Population Technical
Working Group. ADRA is
recognized as an important partner
that has delivered the basic package
for health using key strategies
including community mobilization,
effective targeting of most-at-risk
and vulnerable populations,
communicable disease prevention,
Non-communicable diseases
prevention, family planning, Maternal and Child Health (MCH),
Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) and community capacity
enhancement methodology.
The
main interventions include
nutrition, HIV/AIDS, reproductive
health, building WASH facilities for
communities, and Maternal and
Child Health promotion. Over the
past five (5) years, ADRA has
reached about 1,000,000
beneficiaries including women and
children, PLHIV with health
interventions. In 2019, the Country
Office received a certificate of
appreciation for being the main
sponsor of the Health MED
Foundation’s vision of providing
shelter and healthcare to vulnerable
communities in the Jirapa
Municipality in the Upper West
Region.
